I'm only assuming, but I since I complained of occasional excruciating pain with the CTS, the neuro gave it to me to tide me over until surgery. From what I've gathered, it doesn't *heal* the CTS, only alleviates the symptoms. And I'm definately going to follow up on whether I lose weight!
