When I used to write reviews, Health Communications, Inc., and some other publishers used to send me review copies. I really liked them, and would also suggest them... the small or compact type that fit in a purse, or backpack nicely. I like the ones that go by the calendar year (by month and date) or by type of event or happening going on (cited in the contents or index). : What I'd do is read it in the morning, and, when the mood struck in the day. I'd just focus on the one for that day or event. When I'd think back, it would then have a different perspective after some more introspection. : I'd always ask, myself, Debbie: What can I walk away having learned. It never failed, though sometimes, delayed... there was something that suited either the date or time in my life. : I think those little books are great self-motivators and mood-boosters :) : : : I'll try as you suggested... Actually what I had in my mind when writing that post is how I will feel peaceful and be content and then someone else will be filled with hostility and hatefulness and ruin my sense of peace.. I have always been in tune to others, and its very hard (sometimes impossible) for me to ignore others even if their mood is bad. I find the very people who sometimes talk about peaceful things and how wonderful life, etc etc etc, are the very ones who can cause the most aggravation for others.. Words of wisdom come easy, but putting them into practice is another matter. Have you noticed all the new people on the board lately? Isn't that something!! This ole board just goes on and on and on, doesn't it.. It has a steady supply of carpal tunnel.. It'll be here long after we are gone:) |
