Teresa, the baby and I have forged quite a bond. One thing that I do so enjoy about a little one is their fascination with nearly everything (like me, actually). It's all new to them. I do not treat a child like a child. They hear no-no so much. I allow them to touch things they would not get to otherwise, I allow her to pull my flowers and try to teach her not to put them in her mouth. I spray mine and her clothing with insect repellant and then spend some time outdoors. I actually lay down in the floor and we talk to each other, although neither has the foggiest idea what the other said. You get the idea. Now she watches me like a hawk. She is sharp enough that I cannot sneak out of a room that she is in. She thinks she must be with me 100% of the time she sees me. I do not get to see her often and she is very possessive when we do get together. My wife has problems with her feet and legs and I massage them pretty much every night. The little one likes hers massaged also. In fact, she loves a full body massage. I could go on and on but you get the idea. See what I mean about her spoiling me so much. I love it!! It keeps me young!!

I see where you got a golden retriever. I worked on a construction job adding an addition to a municipal water plant and there was a golden retriever that lived there and belonged to noone in particular. With everyone's blessing I took him home. I truly believe the dog felt gratitude. My entire family fell in love with him at first sight. Among the best pets that I have ever had. He had a taste for pralines & cream ice cream. No other flavor would he eat. My wife worked at a seafood resturant 3 nights a week and she would bring leftovers home to him. He loved the shrimp. If she ever tried to give him anything other than shrimp, he would give her the "disappointed-in-you" look and pout with her. When I was building rooms in my basement, he would have sawdust all over him and come up and rub against my leg, so I would stop and hug him and then he would go lay back down. I think you will be surprised at his intelligence.

Good luck with yours and I am certain you are in for a lot of pleasure.

Corey

: : : Yeah, where is our "medicine man"??? ha ha ha, the board isn't the same without you! :)

: : Howdy,
: : Ain't gone nowhere. House is in one of those streaks of needing one thing after another to be fixed. And last night my 12 1/2 month old great-grandaughter spent the night and she was trying to spoil me. We played long after my normal bedtime and I did not have the chance to check the board. Haven't read all the posts, but definitely like what I see.

: : Hang in there everyone and remember to enjoy.

: Glad to know you are still around! We missed you. How sweet of your great grandaughter, how wonderful children make our lives, huh? Best Wishes...TEresa
