True, pain is subject. For a few days, my pain was bad enough that it prevented me from sleeping or (for much of the morning) even lying in bed. Let’s put it this way. Once, a year ago, I crushed my index finger in a car door. The fingernail was completely upon impact. That was an incredible pain, but I was able to sleep without medications. However, the carpel tunnel pain was much worse. I guess on a scale of 1 to ten (where ten is the worst possible pain one can imagine), it was a six. If it had continued, I would have visited the emergency room. Fortunately, my doctor knows me well enough to know I do not exaggerate pain. Also, I have nothing to gain by a diagnosis of carpel tunnel syndrome – as my occupation does not require the use of my hands in a repetitive motion. The nurses and receptionist seemed kind of dense on this issue, but the doctor herself, was great. In fact, she said my symptoms were “classic.” For example, my hand would fall asleep whilst talking on the telephone. Also, we my hand was pressed back, I felt tingling in my index finger, thumb, and inner side of my middle finger. I can only be thankful that my profession does not require repetitive movements and my typing was never really that fast anyway. If I were in another occupation such as construction (my father’s business), I would no doubt be completely disabled from work. I wish you well. After only a short time with this problem, I can emphasize completely. Sincerely, Scott
