Wrist pain post CTS

Hi,

I'm hoping someone can shed some light on a problem that is baffling my doctor.

I had a baby 6 months ago and had quite bad CTS towards the end of the pregnancy. After the birth the numbness and tingling from the CT disappeared and I regained feeling in my fingers, but I have been left with quite bad pain in both wrists around the thumb / wrist joint.

I have had a course of physio and they told me that the pregnancy hormones softened the joints up and, combined with the CTS, resulted in a chronic injury to the muscles and tendons in that area (not helped by picking up a large baby many times a day!).

The physio has done little, and nor has a course of anti-inflammatories. I'm left, 6 months later, unable to write more than a postcard without real pain, and other seemingly simple tasks can be very difficult.

Any suggestions or similar experiences would be welcome.

Cheers,

Vanessa
