Yes, I'm going to go this week. I've read something that makes it sound like I have 'tendonitis' which probably was originally caused by fluid build up during pregnancy and has caused inflammation in the wrist. Will see what the doc suggests.

Thanks for your advice! All the best,

Vanessa

: : Hi,

: : I'm hoping someone can shed some light on a problem that is baffling my doctor.

: : I had a baby 6 months ago and had quite bad CTS towards the end of the pregnancy. After the birth the numbness and tingling from the CT disappeared and I regained feeling in my fingers, but I have been left with quite bad pain in both wrists around the thumb / wrist joint.

: : I have had a course of physio and they told me that the pregnancy hormones softened the joints up and, combined with the CTS, resulted in a chronic injury to the muscles and tendons in that area (not helped by picking up a large baby many times a day!).

: : The physio has done little, and nor has a course of anti-inflammatories. I'm left, 6 months later, unable to write more than a postcard without real pain, and other seemingly simple tasks can be very difficult.

: : Any suggestions or similar experiences would be welcome.

: : Cheers,

: : Vanessa

: Hi Vanessa, maybe it's time to have your hands tested. The doctor can run the emg/nvc test to see if your nerve is being pinched or trapped. I've read that fluid during pregnancy can cause CT. Maybe fluid could still be the culprit. Time to see whats going on with your hands, make a doctors appointment. Treated early is best for success. We wish you the best and hope you'll keep us updated on how you are. Melani
