RSD is the result of the trama to the nerve. I was also told today that prolonging nerve entrapment could result in getting RSD. So anyone with VERY SEVERE PAIN, see a good doctor. : : : : I have had 10 steroid blocks and he's added 5 more blocks with a different medication. The med is supposed to last longer. So we'll see. They start Nov. 4th and I will have one every week until the 5th block is done. : : : : I got my impairment rating from the MMI(Maximum Medical Improvement). I was rated at 27% disability, which WC is going to fight with passion, because they don't like ratings 15% or over, and I was rated at 16% whole body. I have to find out what that means. : : : : I am pretty sure that now I will have to go do another impairment rating by a WC doctor. I'm fine with that, they can only see whats happened to my hand and its condition. : : : : Thought I would share with all of you. No sympathy needed here, just prayers. Melani : : : Excuse me for addressing this, but only 27% disablitly??? Thats crazy!!!! I'm no doctor, but it seems to me that any idiot would know that your hand/arm is 100% disabled to work at much of anything...What does it take to get what you deserve to get? Does your whole arm have to fall off or what???? Honestly this is not fair!!!! : : Thanks Debbie, Workers Comp considers 15% impairment to be like a cut off hand, lol. They hate anything over 14%. If their doctors see my rating of 27% as absolute, Workers Comp will have to pay me SIBS, which I'm still learning about that. I still haven't found a good website to check it out. SIBS stands for Supplemental Income Benefits. So to WC the 27%rating is going to give them a heart attack. : : The doctor at fault knew what he was doing. He knew the nerve was cut from the first surgery and the open hand release only verified it. He did say he removed gobs of scar tissue when I asked him whats wrong with my hand and why is it not healing. Heheld me at bay for a year and a half and wanted me to come back and see him again this Oct. (but me seeing him again is when hell freezes over) but what he was doing, was giving me hope that the nerve would regenerate and I would be just fine. He lied to me, he let all the time go by because he knew that there is a 2 year limitation for malpractice in the state of Texas. What he didn't know is that I would of never sued him, but with his dishonesty, and all the time he made me wait, I have a diseased nerve now. I believe in God and miracles, so anyday a good thing could happen. Thanks Debbie for your concern. It did mean a lot. Melani : Talk about the dollar, I went to Eckerds Monday to pick up my medicine and Workers Comp had cleared my name out of their computer saying that any more meds would have to be paid for by cash. I paid it, called the lawyer, now everything is taken care of. I'm now back in the system. Workers Comp can be a nightmare. Melani
