: : First of all, I want to ask if anyone has heard of the Bretylium Blocks and if so and you tried them, where they successful. My hand surgeon is going to do 5 of them. There is no steroid in the medicine at all. I've exceeded all that can be put into my body now. From what Ive read on the web, its more or less a treatment for RSD. I'm a little bit curious in why my doctor is taking this route instead of trying to fix the nerve. I would love to hear your input on this new med or experience. Melani

: Don't know anything about it Melani, but it sounds like your doctor is trying to avoid more sugery and thats a good thing isn't it.. He's not rushing you into more than you can handle & I'm sure he sensitive to what you've been put through already....
: Debbie

I sure hope so. I was reading up on the bretylium blocks and from what I read its more a treatment for RSD. The website is a little bit off on the time that you have to have the tourniquet on and the length of time the meds is supposed to stay in the hand, and it doesn't mention anything about the massage at all that was described in talking to the doctor. I know for a fact that he doesn't want to go back into my hand but he said if theres no other alternative, it will happen. I would just love to hear of someone having the block and it helping them out. I'm always nervous of the unknown, so maybe theres someone around here thats had one done and was happy with the results. Melani
