: i have just visited my doctor yesterday and she gave me hand splints to wear. I do feel alot of relief when I wear them. I had so many sleepless nights with the CTS I was very releived when i finally got some sleep by wearing these to bed!! She also scheduled a appointment for me to get a EMG done. The problem is that this appointment is not for another month and a half away. and i do not think that the hand splints are very fashionable to wear at work. I want some info on the surgery, cause i have heard of some bad news on it, would anyone recommend it?

Hi Marcie,
That is wonderful that you are experiencing releif from the splints! Does the CTS bother you during the day at work? Because I think they reccomend you only wear the splints at night. But not sure about that. My advice to you is to read over this board, lots of good info. I would scour it and the internet, as well as talk to your doctor before thinking about surgery. I had it and it went well, but thought about it long and hard before hand.
Good luck keep us posted!
Kitty
