Hi Marcie!!

First of all, although the splints do provide some relief, I wouldn't recommend wearing them all day. Studies show that it only makes things worse in the long run due to the fact that you are allowing for your hands to become even more weak and less useful. At night is just great though!

I was in a similar position as you and very unsure about surgery too. I decided against surgery and did my own very thorough search on cts, rsi's and ALL the treatments. I found a product called Flextend and brought the info to my doctor who hadn't heard of it but fortunately didn't write it off due to that. He got it paid through my WC and after using it for 2 weeks, I was at least 40% better (I had severe bi-lateral cts that, "Only surgery could take care of" according to doctors). It's been one year now and I am better than ever! Go to www.flextend.com and bring the info to your doctor and see what happens! Insurance & WC pays for this product and it is awesome and easy!!

Good Luck - Mandi :)

: i have just visited my doctor yesterday and she gave me hand splints to wear. I do feel alot of relief when I wear them. I had so many sleepless nights with the CTS I was very releived when i finally got some sleep by wearing these to bed!! She also scheduled a appointment for me to get a EMG done. The problem is that this appointment is not for another month and a half away. and i do not think that the hand splints are very fashionable to wear at work. I want some info on the surgery, cause i have heard of some bad news on it, would anyone recommend it?
