I've already got an ergonomic keyboard, and don't have a job that requires phone use. I do sleep on my stomach with my arms curled, and that's when the numbness crops up. I've tried switching to sleeping on my back, but just can't. I'll give the splints a try, thanks for the tip.

: : I have both CTS and problems with numbness at night in my ring and pinkie fingers. The CTS in the right hand was taken care of by surgery, I'm waiting until the next fiscal year to have surgery on my left hand. However, I'm not bad enough to be a candidate for surgery for the ulner nerve problems. Can anyone recommend any exercises that might help?

: Is your ulanr nerve problem in your elbow area or at the wrist. If it is at the elbow, here at the things they told me to do to not make it worse:

: 1. Dont lean on the elbow while on the phone. In fact, if that is the hand you use for the phone, get a headset and use it. The bend in the elbow aggravates it, and leaning on the bend is even worse.

: 2. If you keyboard a lot, get an ergonomic one and check out your body alingment when you are using it. If you can get wireless ergonomic they said it is even better so you can adjust it to less stress and less bend.

: 3. Do you sleep with your arms curled? If so they can make you a night split or you can try to do one from an elbow pad or just something like a towel roll placed in the bed of the arm and wrapped wtih an ace bandage to keep the arm from being bent when you sleep.

: 4. If you start having problems bending the little finger, you need to reconsider waiting. In the month before my surgery, my little finger started to claw and I am having a heck of a time now trying to get movement and use back in it. I am 4 weeks out form surgery and dont have feeling back yet though I am hopeful it will return.
