Ellen,

Thank you for re-posting :)

: Debbie, you're right!! Wa happened??

: OK, here we go again:

: 1. Loss of feeling in fingertips
: 2. Hot needles in fingers, mostly thumb, index and middle, occasionally ring and pinkie
: 3. Pain in various spots in hands, sometimes extending to forearm, upper arm
: 4. Numbness in hands, even feeling electrocuted
: 5. Thenar atrophy
: 6. Outer wrist bony protruding (typical TCFF tear symptom) (this is known as a "piano key").

: As I mentioned before, I had found a reference where CTS can cause the outer wrist bone to protrude due to the muscles pushing the carpal bones out of place.

: With TFCC tears, EMGs show up as being negative (of course); only an MRI would show it.

: The interesting thing is that, normally, the most common symptom for TFCC tears is a "popping" sound when you move the wrist -- but that's not necessarily true in all cases. Otherwise, the symptoms are just like CTS.

: So get those MRIs!!!
