: With a cast, it's gonna be hard to get ice in there :(
: I'm on day 11 post op Jeepgirl, and the incidences of "electricity" or "pins and needles" has been decreasing over time, I still have them occasionally, but not as much. I still have my stitches until wednesday. My wrist screams instantly if I attempt to do something it doesn't like. I can pick up a can of soda for a few seconds, but not much else. My fingers still don't listen good for typing yet. Picking up small objects causes varying degrees of discomfort/pain, depending on the amount of dexterity needed. I feel a "twang" like popping a rubber band, almost every time the wrist has screamed about something I tried to do. I cannot make a fist, or flatten my palm on the table. I made the mistake of trying to hold a grocery bag with the hand - I did it without thinking - and the wrist really really hurt for a while. The "facilities" issue is a bit better, but still hurts.

: Things get better by mini-mini steps, but they are improving. Just hang in there. Don't be afraid to call the office and ask for more pain meds if you need them. I'm seriously considering it....

I didn't know about your cast. I have just kind of scanned the board. During my 2 surgeries I didn't have a cast, just a bulky ace bandage. Putting ice down the cast wouldn't be a good idea.

I know the pain your talking about not thinking about your surgery. I tried to turn the door knob to my home and let out the loudest scream ever. Then after two weeks, I tried to turn the ignition to my truck and had a neighbor running over to see what happened. The words expressing my pain are unmentionable on this board.

Patience and time is the key word here. Taking time to heal is the only thing we can do. Good luck to both you and Jeepgirl. Speedy healing to the both of you. Melani
