: hi...
: i *was* a virtuoso guitarist. i had a whole career
: ahead of me. now this. my guitar teachers(juilliard,Eastman,Stetson)all confirmed that it was not my technique but mere overuse...
: I also use computer alot for school.
: i can still play a bit but it's so painful and
: i've lost control of fingers... so sad.
: the one thing i truly enjoy has been taken from me. so i believe there is hope in surgury but i dont know...
: my left hand feels like when you hit your 'funny bone' and painful, cold, weak. doctors whom i've spoken with have no conclusive answers as to why
: it doesnt just 'go away'
: all i know is the nerve is trapped due to inflammation and the swelling just doesnt go away.
: it's like a dos TSR ,,,resident (hacker lingo)
: so after over a year of tolerating i'm about to go with it...although against my inner belief that there is another solution thats just out of my financial reach. i dont like the idea of
: my wrist being cut open, a tendon being 'snipped'... a permanent operation.
: well any input would be nice.
: thanks for reading my rant :)

That doesn't sound like carpal-=sounds like ulnar nerve. makes your pinky and ring finger hurt and tingle. I have that in both arms, carpal tunnel and medial nerve damage. Nothing I have been given helps much, but neurotin, and I'm going to have surgery. I have 4 little boys and can't live in this much pain.

Good luck to you.
