Don't despair dmm,
My ortho said that we weren't doing any EMGs b/c they aren't that reliable as an indication of healing, especially at our stage. As frustrated as I still am, I too have to admit that I'm WAY better than before surgery. Hang in there!!

: The neurologist redid my emg/ncv today. The median nerve has only improved by .1 milliseconds over what it tested as in June '02, when I had it tested the first time. Well, since the intermittent numbness and constant pain have not been anything like they were, I'll just have to wait and see.

: I don't know what this means for the long term, I'll have to ask my os and see what he says the next visit. I can hope for some more improvement over time, so that's the wait and see game. Considering what the hand was like before the surgery, I'd still have to say that it helped. I may end up having to splint the wrist when I return to work, to keep the strain off it, and give it more time to mend. I'll have to ask about that.
