: I'm going to have an EMG on Monday--both hands. I'm not sure what to expect. How long do they usually take?

The ncv test involves stickers placed on your hand and forearm in various places while a controlled amount of current is ran thru the nerve. it's like getting a static shock over and over. The emg is the part where they poke each muscle through the skin to see that it's working.
It's not terribly comfortable either, but not as bad as getting a painful shot.
