I'm going under the "knife" for CT release in my left (non dominant) hand initially. Open release. A neurosurgeon will be doing the procedure and the date will be set March 18 when I next seem him.

I'm happy for how your appt. turned out, and I look forward to the same for myself, in due time :).

If all goes well with my left hand, I will schedule my right, and then my spinal surgery.

My pain mngmt. counselor told me today that, it's a good approach I am taking so that I can assess how things go prior to the spinal surgery the neuro. also said I need.

One hand at a time :)

I'll be away from here and just in my own zone, to stay positive until my surgery. After that, I'll share the progress, which I also am hoping for. An outcome such as yours and as Copdaddy's, well, it leaves me thinking I've already made the right decision.

I plan on doing the exercises that dmm and Adam have shared on the board after my surgery :) I think, I've a lot to look forward to... like, not feeling so clumsy, etc.

Paula, who has left the board, and said her goodbyes here, has also given me a lot to think about; her insights have been so helpful.

I will share more after my surgery.

: Hi guys, I went today for my 6 wks check up and wanted to let you know that I was totally released! No PT, ...he said everything looked good ...continue to do stretches...and to use my hand...it might hurt at times, but I would not hurt it...that's what I wanted to hear. I do not say this to discourage anyone that might have a longer healing time...that might surely be the case when I have my other hand done,.... but to ENCOURAGE those of you that might be fearful of the surgery...it was a good thing...I'm not 100%..I definitely have tenderness, etc., but it's not anything I can't deal with and i know that it will get better with time. As for now, I'm putting off having the left hand done...I've experienced relief in it...and am just going to wait until later. I have 2 grandbabies due...May and June... so, I need to have it done immediately, or later....I chose later! I appreciate this board....I don't post often, but read often. I'll continue to be here as long as it stays on the subject and not a bunch of junk...don't have time for that...i have flowers to plant, children to play with, etc.
