I hope you will make a speedy recovery from all of this. You have reminded me to be sure to tell the surgeon that I have a mitral valve prolapse--a usually benign condition--but requires that a person have antibiotics before surgery to prevent bacterial endocarditis. I never think about it because in my case it causes no problems. It was diagnosed when it was discovered that I have a mild heart murmur. Best wishes to all. Rita
