: hello all, my question: Is it o.k. to ask your employer who there work comp. lawyer is? is it ik to negotiate with them on what you will settle for out of court on a work comp. claim?

I just wanted to let you know i spoke with a lawyer for the first time about 10 min ago. He said my only option is to retain a new Dr pay out of my own pocket for him to hopefully argue the fact of whether iam really at a max med end result and also ask for some voc rehab. If I don't get a result from this new dr that i am looking for it is basically over and there is nothing i can do as far as amounts go. I just have to take what i get. He obviously did not want a case he knows there is no winning becasue the laws are in favor of the employers.Basically i'm already getting almost everything i could except for the voc rehab. It's very dissappointing to hear it be so final.Maybe you would be better off trying to negotiate yourself.
not sure ...i don't really have anything good to say about our worker comp system right now!
