When will this numbness go away?

I am 24 y.o. nursing student who previous worked as a bank teller for the last 5 years! Last sat. i woke and my thumb, index, and middle finger was numb. I went to the er that night cause it scared me, and to reg. doc on monday. She sayd I pinched my carpal nerve, so I am assuming i have carpal tunnel. I been wearing a brace for a few days and no improvement. The pain shoots up to my shoulder and my three fingers are numb. Any way to relieve???? I been taking aleve and using the brace.
