Hi! Just want to say that I am new to this board and am glad to have gotten this link from a friend. Seems like a great place to ask questions and vent about cts hell. I had surgery for cts on my right hand 8/12/02 and my left on 9/18/02. After the surgeries I was still having problems with my ulnar nerve bilaterally. Experienced numbness, tingling and pain that radiated up to my shoulders. My surgeon referred me to a neurologist for a MRI and x-rays to rule out thoracic outlet syndrome and another EMG for the ulnar nerve. These tests have shown no damage, but the neurologist believes that it is possible that the entrapment of the ulnar nerve is in an early stage and recommended no repetitous activities, but she will not put it in writing because she "feels" uncomfortable with the legalities of work comp. She is now referring me to a physiatrist. I am still experiencing residuals from my surgeries and my cts symptoms have returned, but the ortho surgeon who performed these surgeries has refused to see me. My last vistit with him was 12/3/02 and he released me to go back to work 1/25/03 without even seeing me. I feel like I am in limbo and there are no lawyers in Illinois that will take on a federal work comp case. There is more to all of this than I can mangage to type at this time. I just wanted to vent a little and see if anyone out there reading this has any suggestions. |
